Our Donations

Who gains from the money we raise?
Our emphasis is on local good causes, on young people in particular, and we encourage people who are likely to receive donations to come and help at the Feast. If they can't help they might send their own supporters, or, like the wonderful Chestnut Club for older people, to bake cakes we can sell at our tea and cake stall.

Here's the list of organisations that received funds in 2011. We gave away £13,500 in all making our Grand Total £194,000 !

Donations of £2000 were given to Shelford School and to the Mobile Warden scheme, whose funds have been seriously cut this year.

Donations of £1000 were given to the Rainbow Pre-School Playgroup who have moved into new premises (partly funded by us last year) and need to equip their new base; and to The Friends of St Mary's who are building a new community room.

Alan Varty, representing Shelford Twinning, receives a cheque from Graham White, Chair of the Bunch. The money goes to enable young people of the village to take part in twinning visits

Alison Evans , Head Teacher of Shelford School, receives a cheque for £2000 from Graham White, Chair of the Bunch. The money goes to support opportunities and equipment for young people of the village.

We like to help people who help themselves, so offers of setting up, and especially tidying away after the Feast, manning stalls, contributing skills in publicity, electrics, plumbing, building, cake making will all be gratefully received!
